This Code of Conduct outlines the behaviors expected from all users of Crit & Seek (“we,” “us,” or “our”)—including both Game Masters (GMs) and Players—and defines prohibited behaviors. Violations may lead to warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from our platform at our discretion.

1. Purpose & Scope

We expect everyone interacting with Crit & Seek—via the website, in-game sessions, community forums, social media, or any associated channels—to behave respectfully and uphold these standards. This includes being mindful of the comfort, safety, and enjoyment of all community members.

2. Required Behaviors

1. Use Safety Tools

• Provide and respect designated safety tools (e.g., content warnings, X-cards, break calls) in all game sessions to ensure everyone’s comfort.

1. Speak for Yourself

• Share your personal experiences, perspectives, and opinions. Avoid speaking for others or making assumptions about their identities or viewpoints.

1. Show Compassion & Respect

• Treat other users—regardless of their gaming experience, background, or identity—with empathy and courtesy at all times. Encourage a welcoming environment.

1. Own Your Actions

• If your words or actions harm or discomfort another user, take accountability, offer a genuine apology, and avoid repeating the behavior.

1. Advocate for Others

• If you witness harm or inappropriate behavior, address it compassionately. Contact Crit & Seek Support if you feel the issue warrants further action.

1. De-escalate Conflicts

• If you are hurt or uncomfortable due to someone’s actions, take a moment to process and use our reporting features rather than escalating. Communicate calmly and clearly.

3. Unacceptable Behaviors

1. Disregarding Boundaries & Safety Tools

• Ignoring, arguing against, or refusing to respect others’ boundaries or the agreed-upon safety tools in any session.

1. Hate Speech & Harassment

• Any form of hate speech, personal threats, slurs, deadnaming, misgendering, or abusive language targeting a person’s race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristic.
• This includes verbal or written harassment on our site, social media, or other communication channels.

1. Harassment & Abuse

• Includes offensive comments, stalking, intimidation, sharing explicit or sexual images without consent, unwanted physical contact, or any form of bullying.

1. Mocking Inexperience

• Criticizing or belittling a player or GM for their level of experience or lack of knowledge about game rules.

1. Disrupting Gameplay

• Speaking over others, dismissing or derailing their contributions, or otherwise disrupting a session without cause.

1. Prohibited Content Introduction

• Introducing or continuing content with themes of non-consensual sex, sexual acts with minors, or other sensitive topics without explicit and ongoing consent from everyone at the table.
• Presenting such content without condemning it as wrong or failing to provide sufficient content warnings.

1. Payment Circumvention

• Arranging alternate payment methods (e.g., PayPal, Venmo, cash) for sessions discovered through Crit & Seek, or running a table with unregistered players to avoid platform fees.

1. Solicitation of Explicit Sexual Content

• Requesting or sharing explicit sexual content with other users without their informed and explicit consent.

1. No Call / No Show or Session Cancellations Without Notice

• If you cannot host or attend a scheduled session, notify the affected parties in advance. Respect others’ schedules and time.

1. Dishonesty with Crit & Seek Staff
   • Providing misleading information, lying, or blocking Crit & Seek employees investigating a user report, refund request, or negative feedback.

4. Enforcement & Reporting

1. Three-Strikes Policy

• Crit & Seek operates under a three-strikes policy for most misconduct. Strikes are added to a user’s account after investigation and notification from our support team. Certain behaviors may result in an immediate ban at our discretion.

• This Code of Conduct applies to interactions on the Crit & Seek website, affiliated social media, Discord servers, and anywhere you represent Crit & Seek (e.g., advertising games).

1. Reporting Violations

• If you encounter or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it to Crit & Seek Support via our official channels (email or contact form). We will respond within a reasonable timeframe—usually within 72 hours.

1. Investigation & Outcomes

• Upon receiving a report, our team will investigate, maintain the confidentiality of involved parties as far as possible, and apply disciplinary measures if necessary (e.g., warnings, suspension, or bans).
